Here is an example of some of the other costumes this group has. The purple constrasting with the gold gives the children the look of Royalty. The girls worn dresses and they boys pants. Girls worn head bands and boys wore hats. They were great showmen. Preformining in front of so many people can be nerve racking, but these children were well prepared and even the soloists look at ease
Some of the children had a really good command of the English Language. English is the official Language of their country, but 26 other languages are also spoken there.

I want to thank Nathan for letting me download these pictures, so I could show you a little bit of what we experienced. Some of the cloth for the costumes were made of faux leopard fur. Of course we all think of big cats when we think of Africa and the costume create an ambiance for the audience.

These children had so much energy. They danced and sang for us for about 1 1/2 hours.

In my last practicum we went to an African Dance group (but it was adult males) at Vanier Hall. It was super amazing! We talked with the students (Grade 5/6) about how even if they didn't love the music and the dancing itself, they still had to appreciate the talent and amazing skills of these dancers. They totally did and were amazed at how difficult some of the moves were to do when they tried! I love watching acts like that, they always make me appreciate the skills that other people have! What commitment these people have!
